Dental Implants · Washington, DC
Replace a missing tooth. Restore your confidence.
The only tooth replacement that restores both root and crown, dental implants look, feel, and function like your natural teeth and can last a lifetime with proper care.
What Are Dental Implants?
The complete solution for missing teeth
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made from biocompatible titanium that are surgically placed into your jawbone. Over several months, the bone naturally fuses with the implant through a process called osseointegration, creating a foundation as strong as a natural root.
Once fully integrated, a custom-made crown is attached that matches your surrounding teeth in color, shape, and size. The result is indistinguishable from a natural tooth and functions identically.

The implant process
Consultation and planning
Dr. Roshan conducts a comprehensive exam including digital imaging to evaluate your jawbone density, gum health, and overall oral condition. This assessment determines candidacy and informs your personalized treatment plan.
Implant placement
During a minor surgical procedure, the titanium implant is precisely placed into your jawbone. Dr. Roshan uses advanced imaging guidance for accurate placement and optimal healing outcomes.
Osseointegration
Over the next several months, your jawbone naturally fuses with the implant. This creates a strong, permanent foundation that can withstand normal chewing forces, just like a natural root.
Crown placement
Once integration is complete, an abutment is attached to the implant, followed by your custom-made crown. The final restoration is matched precisely to your natural teeth in color, shape, and size.
Am I a good candidate?
Most patients with missing teeth qualify for dental implants. Ideal candidates have sufficient jawbone density, healthy gums, and good overall health. Conditions like uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking may affect healing, but few factors are absolute contraindications.
If jawbone density is insufficient, bone grafting procedures can often build the foundation needed for successful implant placement. Dr. Roshan will evaluate your specific situation during your consultation.
Caring for your implants
Dental implants require the same care as natural teeth: brush twice daily, floss daily, and maintain regular professional cleanings. While the implant itself cannot develop cavities, the surrounding gum tissue needs the same attention as natural teeth to prevent peri-implantitis.

How Implants Compare
Dental Implant
Lifetime lifespan
Dental Bridge
10-15 year lifespan
Dentures
5-10 year lifespan
Implants are the only option that prevents jawbone deterioration.
The Benefits
Why implants outperform every alternative
Natural Look and Feel
Looks like real teeth
Custom crowns are crafted to blend seamlessly with your existing smile in color, shape, and translucency.
Preserves Jawbone
Prevents bone deterioration
When a tooth is lost, the jawbone shrinks. Implants provide the stimulation needed to maintain facial structure.
Permanent Solution
Designed to last a lifetime
With proper care, implants can last decades. Bridges and dentures typically require replacement every 10 to 15 years.
No Dietary Restrictions
Eat with complete confidence
Implants are anchored firmly in the jawbone, so you can bite and chew with full force. No slipping, no worry, no food limitations.
Protects Adjacent Teeth
Stands independently
Unlike bridges, which require grinding down healthy neighboring teeth, implants stand on their own without affecting surrounding teeth.
Improved Speech
Speak and laugh naturally
Missing teeth and ill-fitting dentures can affect pronunciation. Implants restore proper speech patterns and give you confidence in conversation.
